Myotherapy

Myotherapy is a branch of manual medicine focused on the treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal pain and associated conditions. It involves a physical evaluation and an integrated therapeutic approach to affected muscles, joints, nerves, and associated viscera (organs) and is used in the treatment of acute or chronic conditions and in preventative management.

Myotherapists are trained manual therapy professionals in the field of myofascial pain and dysfunction (pain that arises from the muscles and surrounding connective tissue).

Myotherapists assess and treat the connective tissue (muscle, tendons, ligaments, joint capsules, tissue coverings) using mostly direct 'hands-on' techniques. taping, dry needling and exercise prescription for rehabilitation.

Remedial Massage

Remedial massage is one of the most effective and readily available ways to prevent and treat muscle injuries, pain and soreness.  This massage incorporates a combination of therapeutic, acupressure and advanced massage techniques. A deeper and more intense massage that focuses on specific areas of built up tension within the body.

Sports Massage

Sports massage focuses on muscles relevant to the event. For athletes who train continuously, the goal is to enhance endurance, lessen the chance of injury and shorten the time needed to recover from an event.  Sports Massage is a combination of massage and stretching techniques aimed at preventing injuries to muscles, tendons and ligaments pre, and post or in training.

Deep Tissue Massage

A firm, full body, invigorating massage for those really tense, and chronic areas.  This style of massage works deep within the muscles to free areas of restriction and help correct posture, making it ideal for people with lower back pain or neck and shoulder tension.

Pregnancy Massage

Specialised massage equipment allows pregnant women to comfortably lie on their belly/front enabling the therapist to effectively massage sore necks, shoulders and backs. Massage helps the mother’s body eliminate waste products (through the lymphatic and circulatory systems), helps combat fatigue and to feel more energetic by increasing blood and lymph drainage.
